WebGate

NotePage,
Inc. has released WebGate version 3.6, an easy-to-use Windows paging
program that lets your PC communicate with alphanumeric and numeric
pagers, PCS and digital phones, PCMCIA pager cards, billboards,
and other wireless messaging devices. Using the simplest web page
and e-mail technology, WebGate makes it easy to communicate with
your employees and colleagues on their pagers and other wireless
devices.
WebGate
supports an unlimited number of pagers and service providers, as
well as multiple dialers to support high volume paging needs. You
can run WebGate on a file server, web server, or on any Windows
workstation in your network.
WebGate
can receive, process, and transmit simultaneous messages from its
two interfaces: First, there is an e-mail gateway which can automatically
receive e-mails and send them to any wireless messaging device.
The e-mail gateway has a built-in POP/Mail server which supports
ordinary e-mailing, as well as sending e-mails to alphanumeric pagers
(or notifications of e-mails to numeric pagers.) Second, there is
a web gateway which allows messages to be sent directly from web
pages to pagers and other wireless devices. The program captures
the information that users enter into their forms on the Internet
or their intranet, and sends it to WebGate for processing.
WebGate
supports multiple paging carriers, multiple dialers, direct connections
to paging terminals, group paging, scheduled pages, repeating pages,
on-call groups, message splitting, and ad hoc paging, making it
ideal for demanding, high-end wireless messaging needs.
The program's
modularity allows it to be installed and run on any Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000
Pentium-class computers on your network. WebGate's price depends
upon the number of pagers supported, with a 5-pager license beginning
at $450.
